Food inflation a matter of concern - FM

Inflationary pressures on food items in India is a matter of concern, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Monday. Data showed on Monday wholesale price index rose 4.78 percent in November from a year earlier, higher than previous month's annual rise of 1.34 percent. The food price index rose an annual 16.71 percent in November from a year earlier. "There is an inflationary pressure on food items. It is a matter of concern," Mukherjee told.
