Bank loans up 17.05% on year: RBI

The bank loans rose about 17.05% on year as of 9 April, according to the provisional data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday. Deposits were up 15.98% from a year earlier, the data showed. Bank credit had risen 16.7% and deposits were up 17% on year as of 26 March. The final figures for the week to 9 April would be released by the central bank in its weekly statistical supplement on Friday.
