Century Textiles - Updates

Century Textiles & Industries Ltd has informed that in view of adverse market scenario and demand recession, the Company is in the process of temporarily suspending part operations of viscose Filament Yarn / Viscose Tyre Yarn by stopping the production of Tyre Yarn in stages by end of February, 2009 at the Company's factory at Century Rayon, (Rayon, Tyre Cord & Chemical Plants), Murbad Road, Kalyan- 421 103 in the State of Maharashtra. With stopping of production of Tyre Yarn, production of Viscose Yarn is likely to fall by about 25% of total installed capacity. The Management will closely monitor the situation to restore the operation at appropriate time. Meanwhile, the factory will undertake the preventative maintenance of the Tyrecord Plant and related equipment. Operations of Rayon Yarn and Chemicals shall remain unaffected.
