Power Grid to invest Rs 1603 cr on grid projects

Power Grid Corp said on Thursday its board approved investments worth Rs 1603 crore for various grid strengthening projects. The central transmission utility will invest Rs 1217 crore for system strengthening project for Sasan and Mundra ultra-mega power projects, to be completed withing 32 months, it said. Power Grid will also invest Rs 276 crore for strengthening southern regional grid, to be completed in 28 months. It would also invest 1.1 billion rupees on system strengthening of Northern region to be completed in 24 months, it added.
