All navigation for online transactions are easy in your trading
screen and you have to get used to that. For buying, selling you can
click menu options and do that or with short cut keys (by pressing f1,
f2) also you can do that. You can see your order book in trading screen.
Best thing is get good practice with your trading screen.
Total Buy Quantity and Total Sell Quantity are very important since it shows the trend of that commodity. If buy quantity is more than the sell quantity, then most of the traders believe that commodity price will go up. If sell quantity is more than the buy quantity, then most of the traders believe that commodity price will go down. In real time (trading), nothing is true and everything may get changed because of some news.
DPR (Daily Price Range): This is a predefined minimum and maximum price set by the exchange on that day for each commodity. So the last traded price will be always range bound between minimum and maximum range. Some times because of some reports or storage data etc, last traded price will equal to maximum or minimum range. In that situation, trading will not happen and it will be freezed for few seconds or few minutes. DPR minimum price and maximum price will be modified by the exchange and modified data will appear on your screen. Then trading will start once again.
Minimum Columns (Headers) needed in your Trading Screen:
Exchange: The exchange on which commodity is trading.
Symbol: The symbol allocated by exchange for that commodity. If you don't know the symbol, it will be difficult for you to search a particular commodity.
Example: for Turmeric, symbol is TMCFGRNZM. If you have to add TURMERIC to your trading screen by searching with a key word "TURMERIC". You may not find "TURMERIC". If you search it with "TMCFGRNZM", you will find that. This may not be true for all online trading systems also.
Script Name: The Product name for that commodity.
Contract/Expiry: The date and month on which the contract will expire for that particular commodity.
Last Traded Price: The last traded price of that commodity.
Net Change in Rupees: The difference between last traded price and the previous closing price..
Percentage Change: The difference between last traded price and the previous closing price in percentage.
Total Buy Quantity: The total number of lots waiting in queue to buy a commodity.
Total Sell Quantity: The total number of lots waiting in queue to sell a commodity.
Buy Price: The price to buy (Several people would be interested in different prices).
Sell Price: The price to sell (Several people would be interested in different prices).
High: The maximum price that has been traded today for that commodity.
Low: The minimum price that has been traded today for that commodity.
Open: When the market opened, the price at which the first transaction (Buy or Sell) was done.
Close: The previous trading session closing price. This is the latest traded price during the previous day for that commodity.
