IOC may set up 1,000 MW nuke plant with NPCIL

Indian Oil Corp may set up a 1,000 megawatt nuclear power plant in partnership with state monopoly Nuclear Power Corp. of India Ltd., B.M. Bansal, director of planning and business development, said in New Delhi.

The nuclear plant may be built at a cost of Rs80 million a megawatt, he said.

The report stated that the company will seek to buy liquefied natural gas from Africa and Australia for a proposed
LNG plant at Ennore in south India.

The planned LNG plant will have an annual capacity of 2.5 million metric tons, report adds.
