Inflation not a concern for next few months: Pillai

Inflation is no longer a concern for the next 2-3 months, and banks are likely to further cut their lending rates, the trade secretary said on Thursday.

GK Pillai also said exports are expected to recover from April-onward.

"Inflation is not an issue for the next two to three months," he said. Data showed on Thursday wholesale price index rose 0.44 per cent in the 12 months to March 7, below the previous week's annual rise of 2.43 per cent and the lowest annual reading in the history of the current series.
