Spice Mobiles zooms 33% in seven trading days

Spice Mobiles is locked at the 5% upper circuit at Rs 52, after the company had launched its new 12 mega pixel (MP) handset, the S-1200 at the beginning of current month.

The cell has a 12.2 mega pixel camera with Professional CCD Sensor with 3X Optical Zoom and 9X Digital Zoom with advanced camera functions could be availed for Rs. 14,500. Currently only Ericsson and Samsung have 12 MP phones in the market.

The company is also planning to start manufacturing the mobiles in India, by the year end and having big sales target to sell at least one million mobile handsets from April onwards.

The stock has outperformed the market by appreciating 33% since April 1, from Rs 39 on the BSE, as compared to 1% rise on the Sensex, during the same period.
