BHEL drops acquisition plans

BHEL has reportedly dropped acquisition plans of an East European firm that make coaches and engines for its technology.

Meanwhile, reports also stated that the company is close to bag an order worth Rs8bn from the Indian Railways for manufacturing 150 electric locomotives

This deal would be done independently of the company's arrangement with General Electric Co.(GE). The deal is expected to be announced next month, added reports.
