R Infra commissions 600 MW unit of Hisar thermal plant

“This project will not only benefit the state by adding 288 lakh units of energy per day but will also create 15,000 job opportunities in the field of construction, operations and maintenance,” Reliance Infrastructure Director (Operations), SC Gupta said.

The thermal power plant, which has a total capacity of 1,200 MW with two units of 600 MW each, will cost Rs 3,800 crore to build.

It is being set up by Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) and executed by R Infra.

The project was awarded to RInfra in January 2007. The main plant equipment for the Hisar project has been imported from Shanghai Electric Corporation, China.
