Petronet LNG plans power units in Dahej, Kochi

Petronet LNG is planning to set up a 1,500 MW gas-based power unit in Dahej and a 760MW unit in Kochi, Chairman and Managing Director P Dasgupta said today.

The company has already received land allocation for the Dahej power unit and is waiting for the same for the Kochi unit, Dasgupta said on the sidelines of an oil and gas technical conference here.

According to new government rules, the company can sell power to state electricity boards or power trading companies.
